Did you know pets make babies healthier?
Let’s be honest, having pets is a lot of work. They can almost be like having another kid. When you have a baby the last thing you want is more responsibilities, but having pets has its perks. Having a pet can reduce the risk of allergies and even obesity (because they are beneficial to the gut microbes). Kids who grow up with pets are less likely to have asthma (especially dogs).
Having a pet is also very beneficial to children social skills and their self esteem. However, keep an eye on your baby when he/she is interacting with the pet. No matter how well trained they are, pets are still animals and can be unpredictable, especially when a baby is “showing love”.
