Disposable diapers take around 500 years to decompose which means that the diapers you, your parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on are still in a landfill probably intact (just as a reference, I know some of them probably used cloth diapers). In this day and age with population growth going off the charts and climate change, it is very important to reduce our carbon footprint and cloth diapers are a great way to do it. What are some of the questions you all have?
Must Haves For Cloth Diapers
Trash Can & Pail Liner
We used this trash can from that we had lying around. It worked out great because it has a lid which is a big plus, because it can get a little smelly. Don’t worry though if you do not have a lid. It really is not that bad.
Diaper Sprayer
We used this one from Amazon and it has held up very well. We have a friend who got a different one and the commonality between them is that they have water pressure that is high. As baby gets older the poo gets harder to get off, so you want to be sure the sprayer has high water pressure. We use this one and it has held up great: https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Diaper-Sprayer-Easy-Giggles/dp/B07121VL4D
Cloth Wipes
Cloth wipes are are huge upgrade over disposables. A job that would take 3 or 4 disposables only takes one cloth wipe. Even if you don’t do cloth diapers I highly recommend using cloth wipes at least.
Wet Bag
Never leave home without one! These bags work great at concealing the stank of the dirty diapers until you can get home to spray them.
