Brushing Babies Teeth

You should start brushing baby’s teeth as soon as you see the first tooth peeking out! For us this was around 6 months, but remember, every baby is different and they develop at different rates. Our little guy loved it from the get-go. Maybe because the toothpaste is yummy 👶. Make sure you use a soft toothbrush and that the baby toothpaste is safe to swallow.

It is important to try and brush babies teeth at least once a day. If you don’t brush babies teeth they can start to build up plaque, and their little teeth can actually rot. We brush his teeth for him then let him play with the brush to practice doing it himself. He loves it! He doesn’t really brush, but it sure is cute with him holding the toothbrush in his mouth with a big grin on his face.

Eventually baby will be old enough to start brushing himself with a little supervision. Be sure to start teaching him about good dental habits early on and keep reminding him how important it is to have healthy teeth and gums. Start with telling him how good it feels to have a clean mouth. If he is super resistant you can remind him that dirty teeth become rotten and fall out.
