Did you know your eye prescription can change with pregnancy? And even if you had 20/20 vision before putting a bun in the oven you might have blurred vision while it’s baking. Many times this goes away after giving birth, other times it may stick around. In my personal experience, my prescription changed a ton and it never went back to what it was. The problem is, most eye doctors will not let you do an eye exam while pregnant or even three months after giving birth.
But why can your vision change with pregnancy?
Eye pressure: just as the hormones can make your ankles all swollen, fluid can build up in your eyes.
Reduced tear production: even though you may be crying your eyes out, hormones decrease tear production.
Poorer peripheral vision: nobody knows why but I am sure we can blame this on the hormones too. This one is very likely to go away after the baby’s birth.
