How To Make A Milk Bath For Baby

Milk baths are a great way to hydrate baby’s skin and prevent eczema. It is really easy to do too. Just pull out some of your stored breast milk and combine it with some warm water in a tub.

Sometimes we like to throw in some rose petals to really pamper baby. The oils from the petals definitely can’t hurt. We usually use about 2 big bottles of milk (about 32 oz.) along with about half a big bucket full of warm water (about 2.5 gallons).

Just be sure the water isn’t too hot for baby. Luke warm is generally sufficient and will ensure you won’t burn baby’s skin. As long as baby is enjoying his bath feel free to leave him be.

Breast milk is really amazing and there is a reason people call it liquid gold and that it fetches about a $1 per ounce. Not only does it provide baby with all the nutrients he needs when feeding, but letting baby soak in it is great for his skin!
